Traffic rules

Driving in Georgia
Exploring Georgia by car is one of the best ways to experience the country’s incredible landscapes, ancient towns, and modern cities. To make your journey safe and enjoyable, please take a moment to review the key driving and parking rules below.

Speed Limits:
Speed limits in Georgia are clearly marked on road signs and vary depending on the area :
• Within cities and towns: 60 km/h
• Outside urban areas: 90 km/h
• On highways: 110 km/h
Keep an eye on road signs, as limits can occasionally change depending on the road section.
Note: Minor speeding (less than 15 km/h over the limit) does not result in a fine.
For higher speeds, penalties apply as follows:
Cameras across the country automatically record speeding and other traffic violations, so it’s best to drive carefully and enjoy the scenery.
Traveling with Children

For families traveling with little ones, Georgian law requires the use of child car seats for children under 7 years old.
The seats must be appropriate for the child’s age, weight, and height — and must meet international safety standards.
For children aged 7–12, using a booster seat is recommended until they are tall enough for the standard seat belt to fit correctly.
Children aged 12 and older or taller than 150 cm may use regular seat belts, which should always go across the shoulder and chest, not the neck.
Our car rental service offers a variety of high-quality child seats free of charge — simply let us know your child’s age and we’ll prepare the right one for you.
Parking in Georgia
In cities like Tbilisi and Batumi, paid parking is common and easy to use.
Parking rates usually range from 1 to 3 GEL per hour, and all spaces are marked with a parking number and price information
You can pay quickly and conveniently by downloading the official parking app on your mobile phone
Please note that parking without payment or blocking traffic may result in a fine, and illegally parked cars can be towed.
To avoid issues, always park in designated areas and double-check for parking signs.
